Happy New Year!
2011 was a fantastic year..
Travels: we were fortunate enough to travel to the mountains for some skiing, visit Florida for a week, head over to Dawson Creek and Calgary for weddings in July, spend a month in Thailand, and had a family weekend in Texas for Thanksgiving... LOTS of traveling this year; definitely not something we will be able to do as easily with a baby in tow!
Home Front: It's safe to say we've completed the bulk of our renos! Our house is pretty much completely updated from 1975! J started the renovations in mid-2009, and it's dizzying to think of how much he's done:
New floors. Painted all the walls. Replaced all the counter-tops (kitchen + 2 bathrooms). Updated all the appliances (fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, furnace), painted all the doors, casings, and baseboards, replaced the old toilets and bathtub and re-tiled it too!
Family Front: We got pregnant! From the nonstop nausea of trimester 1, a hernia and failing the first round of the gestational diabetes test (but don't worry, I passed the 2nd one!), to the constant exhaustion that lasted pretty much the whole pregnancy... pregnancy really did kick my butt. BUT it is already 100% worth it. We can't wait to meet our little one!
Eeek, 2012 will be the year J and I will become PARENTS!
