From a travel blog to a baby blog...

As newlyweds, we frantically crammed 7 fabulous trips together before popping out babies. So this originated as a travel blog back in 2009....
But now we're trading in the suitcases and passports for strollers and poopy diapers! Yay for the greatest adventure of all: Parenthood!

2 months!

Wow, J-Bear, you're 2 months old today!

At two months...

-I don't know how much you weigh because I was kind of bad and missed your 2-month checkup. We're switching to the BEST pediatrician in the city, though, so in 2 weeks you'll get to meet him, get weighed, and we will probably hear how well you're doing :)
-We have overcome the hardest hurdle thus far, which was the 2-3 hours of inconsolable crying every evening. Mommy stopped eating most vegetables, as we found that cutting them out made a difference within 2-3 days. The biggest offenders were broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, beans, and onions. We also figured out that spicy foods = horrible reflux and spit up for you. Anyways, now that Mom is on a low-fiber, "white rice" kind of diet, evenings are A LOT more pleasant in our home.
-You still sleep most of the day! You have a 1.5-2 hour active/awake period in the morning, usually between 7-10 AM, again sometime in late afternoon, and then 3-4 hours of being awake and active in the evening when your dad comes home (although by then you're a little fussy)
-You don't enjoy tummy time for more than 2-3 minutes, MAX. You are getting stronger though - you can lift your head (and shoulders and chest) up higher, and for longer. Then you usually start to cry until Mom or Dad rescues you!
-When we hold you upright, you can bear weight on your cute little legs now
-You love looking at lights and tracking them!
-We love seeing a lot more smiles now! You often smile when we start singing to you, or play some familiar music (like the lullabye song on your bassinet)
-You're mostly wearing 3-month sleepers, onesies, and pants!
-First movie, check! First time swimming, yup!
-We hear adorable coos and goos from you all the time, especially when you're laying on your back and just taking in the world. Ahhh-ahhh, uhhhg, gahhh, and sometimes "glaaa glaa" too!

Oh our sweet Little J, how we love watching you grow and change every day!
Love,

Mommy

  1. I wonder if you can print off and keep hard copies of your blog? Jasmine is going to love reading these one day and they may really help her out in the future when she is a mommy herself! I am worried about everything being on the Internet - what if the whole system crashes one day? Probably I am just too old to really trust this technology, lol! love Nana
